WHAT IS PERMANENT JEWELRY?
Permanent jewelry is a trending jewelry style that’s measured to size and welded together. It doesn’t have a clasp or any type of closure, so it’s designed to be worn forever (or for as long as you like). Permanent jewelry is usually made out of a fine, lightweight chain that’s comfortable for daily wear.
People often get permanent jewelry with their friends or family members as a symbol of connection. Permanent bracelets, also known as forever bracelets, are especially popular to get as a pair or group. Matching permanent bracelets can act as modern day friendship bracelets or as a way of commemorating a special occasion.
Whether you want to get permanent jewelry on your own or with your loved ones, Michael & Son’s Jewelers is here to make your experience special.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GET ZAPPED?
Permanent jewelry is also called zapped jewelry. The term “zapped” comes from the flash of light you see when the two ends of a permanent jewelry chain are fused together.
While the idea of zapping something together around your wrist may sound like it could be painful, know that getting permanent jewelry is totally pain free. The jewelry is held away from your skin when it is zapped, so you will not feel a thing.

Q: Why don’t you offer gold vermeil or gold filled permanent jewelry?
Since permanent jewelry is meant to be worn for a long period of time, we only offer sterling silver and solid gold chain options. Gold vermeil and gold filled chains get their gold color from a thin outer coating of gold. That coating can wear off quickly with frequent wear, so we do not recommend it for permanent jewelry.
Q: How much does your permanent jewelry cost?
The cost of our permanent jewelry varies depending on the type of chain you choose and the length required for your piece. You can see our detailed price by inch guide above.

If you have a pacemaker, you should not get permanent jewelry due to the welding process.
